Dr. Samarkos and his wife, Dr. Maria Rodriguez-Samarkos, have two children, Andres and Nicolas, and a beautiful white Bichon named Rocco. In addition to staying busy with their children's activities, such as baseball and golf tournaments, they enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family in Tarpon Springs and Puerto Rico.
A Tarpon Spring native, Dr. Samarkos moved to Gainesville for his undergraduate studies and liked it so much he decided to stay. He and his wife, Dr. Rodriguez-Samarkos, started their dental practice together in 1993.

Experience
Dr. Rodriguez-Samarkos completed an advanced education general practice residency at the University of Maryland Hospital and the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore, Maryland. She has also completed advanced training in cosmetic, general, orthodontic, neuromuscular, and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Rodriguez-Samarkos is an active member of the Alachua Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Florida Dental Association.

Dr. Rodriguez-Samarkos and her husband, Dr. John Samarkos, have two children, Andres and Nicolas, and a beautiful white Bichon named Rocco. In addition to staying busy with their children's activities, such as baseball and golf tournaments, they enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family in Tarpon Springs and Puerto Rico. Dr. Rodriguez-Samarkos also enjoys cooking, reading, and water aerobics.
Dr. Rodriguez-Samarkos moved to Gainesville for her undergraduate studies and liked it so much that she decided to make it her family home. She is bilingual, speaking fluent Spanish and English. She and her husband started their dental practice in 1993.

Experience
After working as a general dentist for several years, Dr. Fatima returned to the University of Florida's College of Dentistry to specialize in periodontics. As a periodontist, Dr. Fatima firmly believes in treating periodontal disease and achieving a healthy oral environment.

Born in India, Dr. Fatima moved to the United States when she was 10 years old and grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In her free time, she loves spending time with her son and husband, reading, traveling, hiking, working out at the gym, and riding her Peloton bike. She enjoys teaching, and during her undergraduate education, she was a lab assistant for organic chemistry and a tutor for math and science classes.
