Education and Continuing Education
Dr. John A. Samarkos graduated from the University of Florida with Honors BS in Zoology in 1987. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1991 from UF. He started private practice with his wife Dr. Maria E.Rodriguez- Samarkos in 1993.Today, they have a successful dental practice in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. Samarkos is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association and the Alachua Dental Association. In his commitment to excellence in the practice of dentistry, he has joined the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry completed many continuing education courses in general, cosmetic, restorative, orthodontics and neuromuscular dentistry throughout the year.
Family Life
Dr. Samarkos was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida and graduated from Tarpon Springs High School. He moved to Gainesville for his undergraduate studies and enjoyed it so much that decided to stay. Dr. Samarkos and Rodriguez-Samarkos have two children: Andres is 22, and Nicolas is 18. They have a beautiful white Bichon called Rocco. Their family stays busy with their children activities which include baseball and golf tournaments, but they also enjoy traveling , spending time with friends and visiting family in Tarpon Springs and Puerto Rico.
In the Practice
Dr. Samarkos and Dr. Rodriguez-Samarkos have been working, learning and practicing together for more than 26 years. We want to provide our patient with an exceptional experience and we treat everyone like they are members of our family.
Our team follows our same philosophy to making our patients’ experiences special! Each patient is treated like they were close members of the family. We enjoy working together and like getting to know our patients to serve them.
